Industry · E-commerce / ResearchAn operator opening a dozen competitor pages every morning, replaced by a daily, auditable price comparison table.
Situation
An operator spent an hour each morning recording competitor prices by hand. Entries were missed, and nobody could say whether a given day's data was complete. The goal: a scheduled job that finishes before work hours, with auditable records.
Approach
- Write the source list and authorization boundary first, with the basis for each page
- Lock fields with a small batch: product, spec, price, timestamp
- Run on a fixed daily schedule; failed sources go to logs, never silently skipped
- Output one consistent comparison table; archive history by date
Deliverables
- Source list, field dictionary, and sample data
- A schedulable collection program with a runbook
- Daily price comparison table with historical archive
- Failure alerts and re-run instructions
